Abstract
In this second of three articles, Dr Chippendale continues with his anecdotal look back at the Lancaster and district medical scene of 1962, the year he arrived in Lancaster. It was the year Marilyn Monroe died, Moon River was record of the year, Telstar was launched and Spurs beat Burnley in the FA Cup Final. 1962 – that was the year that was. In his first article, Dr Chippendale described the work of the Lancaster general practitioners, surgeons and anaesthetists. This article looks at the outlying practices and has more on the hospitals.
